THE CHALLENGE

The Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) was seeking a qualified vendor to migrate existing electronic files (from file share exclusively) to Office 365 with SharePoint and Teams.  This project represents Phase 2 of RECA’s Office 365 Program.  This Phase will see the successful development and execution of a migration plan to move files from the on-premise system to RECA’s existing Office 365 tenant.

BUSINESS CASE

The objective was to execute a high value migration of selected content, properly store and secure the content, reconcile the move of content, and to ensure business users are equipped to effectively use this content in their day to day operational activities.  RECA was seeking these main deliverables to support their business functions:

  • Confirmed validation of current state and associated recommendations
  • Migration Readiness
  • Migration Plan
  • Migration Execution – Proof of Concept executed by BU
  • Supporting documentation
  • Training for both operational and technical personnel
  • Migration Quality & Completeness Audit
THE OUTCOME

ARC Business Solutions (ARC) used Delivery Management Methodology (DMM) for the project management framework.  The DMM is a governance function that enables ARC’s to work effectively with RECA EIM from beginning to end.   ARC is proud to state that not only was the project on-budget; but also RECA was extremely satisfied with results especially during an awkward time during the pandemic in spring and summer of 2020.
